A native Virginian, Al Ratcliffe has lived in Alabama most of his life. After graduating from Jacksonville State University, and Auburn, he started his broadcast career as an assignment editor at WBRC in 1995.

Al made the jump to WIAT 42 in November of 1998, and has been here ever since. In his time behind the camera, he’s had the privilege to video two sitting Presidents, one former President, two NASCAR Champions and a score of other sports figures and national politicians. Al thinks the crowning achievement of his career, thus far, has been helping CBS 42 become a solid player in the local television market.

A husband and father, Al lives in Pelham with his wife LeAnn, daughter Aly Kate, two dogs and one cat. When not spending time with his family and working, he enjoys hunting, golf, reading and Auburn Football.
