Gina Redmond



Imagine chatting with actor/musician Jamie Foxx, having an intimate conversation with television host Dr. Phil, or shaking hands with former First Lady Laura Bush? Those are just a few of the top newsmakers, award-winning journalist Gina Redmond has had the honor of interviewing during her extensive broadcasting career.

Redmond, who has worked in top markets like Dallas and Pittsburgh, was born and raised in the City of Brotherly Love. The Penn State graduate began her career in radio and quickly moved into television news.

Redmond, who considers herself a reporter, first, is proud of the many investigative pieces she has written and produced over the years. In 2001, she was awarded the Sheridan Broadcasting Network Award for best television reporter and a Heartland Regional Emmy for her work as host of Good Morning Texas.

Today Redmond lives in the Birmingham area with her husband, three children, two cats and one dog. Prior to joining WIAT 42, Redmond was the primary evening anchor for NBC. In her spare time Redmond enjoys cooking, reading, whitewater rafting and fishing.
