Shanisty Myers anchors CBS42 on Saturdays and Sundays. Before joining the CBS42 team in 2008, Shanisty was an anchor/reporter/producer at WTAP in Parkersburg, WV. Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Shanisty attended the University of Kentucky and graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in history.
During her career Shanisty has had the privilege of telling many stories but says the most memorable ones were during the April 27, 2011 tornadoes. The mass destruction and the unbelievable stories of survival are memories she will never forget. Shanisty won a Regional Murrow Award for her hard news reporting: “A Personal Storm”. She also won an AP Award for “Best Documentary – RSA, The Pension Crisis.”

Shanisty is a new mom! She, her husband Jeff, and their son Luke live in the Birmingham area.
