Ted joined the WIAT 42 Weather team in March, 2011. Recently honored by the Alabama Associated Press as Best Weather Anchor for 2014. During his time in Alabama he has faced some of the most powerful forms of nature. Ted played a vital role before, during and after the April 27, 2011 historic tornado outbreak. He was on the air the weekend beforehand cautioning viewers to be prepared for a terrible day. Ted and his teammates won an Associated Press Award and an Edward R Murrow award for their coverage April 27. After the storm, Ted hit the streets with a camera to learn what people did to survive these monster twisters. The WIAT 42 team won another Edward R Murrow award for “Continuing coverage of the April 27th Tornadoes.”
Three weeks after the tornadoes, Ted was interviewing an elderly woman who lost her home in Tuscaloosa. During that interview the lady’s beloved cat “Cadie” appeared out of nowhere. That emotional reunion was captured and put together in a piece that went viral. The story got thousands of hits on the internet from around the world. Watch Cat Story.
Ted also braced Hurricane Isaac in August 2012 in Gulf Shores, Alabama where he did live reports for Central Alabama. Ted is no stranger to snow and ice either. He grew up in Delmar, NY a suburb of Albany, NY where his love for weather began at the age of 11.
Ted pursued his dream and attended Buffalo State College in Buffalo, NY and earned degrees in Geography, Meteorology and Climatology. In 2007, he earned the Buffalo State Updraft Award for excellence in Meteorology.

Ted loves the South and just as he loves his Buffalo wings he now knows what good barbecue is. He likes to get out to for runs in area parks, especially Railroad Park. A big football fan, he hopes all of the stand out Auburn and Alabama players make it to his Buffalo Bills so they can finally win a Super Bowl.
