BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – Ryan Bresette is coping with the unthinkable a family vacation coming to a close with tragedy and heartache. Four members of Ryan’s family were passing through the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport on Friday when a sign displaying arrival and departure information came away from the wall crushing his wife and three of his children.
10 year old Luke Bresette died as a result of the accident.
Early Saturday morning Ryan Bresette took to Facebook to express his gratitude to those who have rallied around the family during this tragic time saying:
“Words cannot describe the pain we feel. Thank you all for the love and support. Keep praying and praying and praying. For anyone attending STM mass this morning, please wear your favorite sports team shirt. Luke loved sports! I miss and love Luke so very much. I love you Luke!!!”

Ryan’s wife Heather is being treated at UAB Hospital. She’s listed in serious condition.
Two other Bresette children, Sam and Tyler are being treated at Children’s of Alabama. Both are listed in fair condition.
