Birmingham-area students enjoy lesson at Barber Motorsports

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Students from Parker High School enjoyed a lesson in a unique setting on Thursday.The students participated in the Alabama Power Junior Clinic at Barber Motorsports Park.

Indy Car driver Josef Newgarden taught the students about the Indy Car Racing circuit.

They also received a lesson on the latest electric vehicle technology.

Many of the students asked questions pertaining to the different vehicles, with hopes of one day working on the technological side of the racing industry.
