KANSAS CITY, MO {WIAT} – A 10 year old boy killed in a tragic airport accident is laid to rest.

It was a much more somber occasion at St. Thomas More Catholic Church Saturday morning than on Friday when classmates of Luke Bresette released hundreds of balloons in his memory.

Close to a thousand people packed into the church for the morning service including Birmingham Mayor William Bell and several members of the Birmingham Airport Authority.

Members of the media were not allowed inside but Pastoral Associate David Butel says the Bresette family was “unbelievably strong.” He adds,

“Obviously there were times when they became emotional… people became very emotional. Father Don had to stop several times during the mass to recompose himself.”
