(WIAT) — Officials from a major aerospace company broke ground on a new airline assembly plant in Mobile on Monday.
Airbus broke ground on a $600 million assembly plant at Brookley Aeroplex.
The plant will to add more than 1,000 jobs to the Alabama economy with hundreds more expected to be added in the coming months.
Production at the plant is scheduled to begin in 2015.
