Shelby County to begin $2 million road project

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.– Shelby County is preparing to begin a multi-million dollar road project. According to County Engineer Randy Cole, the $2 million dollar construction will repair, resurface, and stripe various county roads. The county hopes to begin work later this month.

Roads to be worked on include Shelby County 8, Shelby County 468, Star Trek, Shelby County 267, Shelby County 281, Shelby County 343, Shelby County 335, Spring Garden Street, Alpine Way, Mountain Vista, Brook Green Lane, Shelby County 226, Plateau Road, Woodland Drive, Meadowood Lane, Woodfield Road, Shelby County 11 turn lanes, Valleydale Road at Lowe’s, Shelby County 263, Shelby County 75 and Shelby County 22.

Work will also be done in various subdivisions, including Broken Bow, Meadow Brook, Jameswood, Parkview, Little Ridge Estates and Willowbrook. The Montevallo Promenade at North Boundary Street and Island Street, The Willows in the city of Vincent, and Meyer Street in the city of Columbiana will be worked on, as well.
