(WIAT) — Construction crews continued work on Wednesday afternoon at Regions Field getting the ballpark prepared for the opening night at the new complex in downtown Birmingham.
Crews worked hard spreading mulch, putting up signs and making sure all vending machines and ATMs worked properly.
“They are finishing some sidewalk concrete here and there,” Barons Director of Media Relations Nick Dobreff said on Wednesday. “Obviously, they’re still working on the outfield area of the ballpark. Our 3rd Avenue entrance will not be open to the public [on Wednesday].”
The entrances for opening night are at 1st Avenue South and 14th Street South across from Railroad Park.
