BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—The Samford football team prepared for its final spring scrimmage with a two-hour workout in full pads Friday afternoon at Seibert Stadium.
Friday’s workout was the 10th of 15 the Bulldogs will go through this spring. The team will scrimmage Saturday at 9 a.m. at Seibert Stadium.
The scrimmage will be the second of the spring for the Bulldogs. Head Coach Pat Sullivan says he and his coaching staff will try to give some of the younger players on the squad some playing time during the final scrimmage.
“We want to continue working on the fundamentals,” Sullivan said. “The big thing is being a little more polished. We know the players who have done it before and we can count on. You want to get a lot of reps for some of the young players, so that’s what we’ll try to do tomorrow.”
Following the scrimmage, Samford still has three practices to go through next week. The team will practice Monday at 4 p.m. in full pads, Thursday at 4 p.m. in shorts and helmets and Friday at 4 p.m. in full pads.
“We have to have one more day in shorts, so we’ll probably do that on Thursday,” Sullivan said.
Saturday’s scrimmage is open to the public and admission is free.
