(WIAT) — A group of Alabama students had the chance to prepare themselves to work in the sales, accounting and financial planning fields on Friday.
The students participated in the Future Business Leaders of America’s (FBLA) event held at the Birmingham Sheraton.
About 1,700 students attended the event that gave them the opportunity to participate in leadership workshops designed to give them a competitive advantage against the workforce.
“A lot of kids can get experiences that they will never really get anywhere else, and it gives them a good advantage in the future,” Hunter Porter said on Friday.
The Alabama chapter of the FBLA has more than 14,000 members and is one of the largest in the country.
