BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – The eCO Credit Union is pulling out all the stops to educate not only their savings race contestants but all of us about couponing.

If you could head into the grocery store and spend $30 and walk out with $60 worth of products that’ll get your attention right.

Sherrita Johnson has caught on to the deal. “With the buy one get one free pretty much get out of there for even.”

Johnson was happy to get some extra tips from eCO Credit Union’s extreme couponing expert Andrea Lusk.

Lusk suggests, “Don’t be shy to ask them for it.  Can I have two, they’re very happy to do that.”

While newspaper coupons may be going out digital coupons are gaining popularity especially with smart phones becoming more popular.

What you may not know is that product pricing comes in waves. A single product could cost a dollar more or less depending on the week.

So Lusk says you really need to pay attention to the cycle. “What we want to do is we want to buy things at the lowest price possible and use our coupons because we want to spend less.”

And remember coupons can be doubled and stacked, meaning you can combine your manufacture and store coupons.
