(WIAT) – Randy Lyle made the trip up to Boston, Mass. from Chelsea, Alabama to participate in one of the biggest events for any runner, the Boston Marathon.

And as he reached the final few miles, he wasn’t greeted by cheers and laughter, but rather screams and panic.

On Monday, April 15th, two explosions went off near the finish line of the 2013 Boston Marathon, killing at least two and injuring many more.

Thankfully Randy was not hurt in the blast. He was able to take a few moments to speak with CBS42 about what was going on at the scene.
