(WIAT) — Big Al and the University of Alabama cheerleaders made a special trip to Birmingham on Wednesday.
They delivered a $36,000 check to Children’s Hospital.
The check was part of a program called “Picks for Kids.”
For every pass Alabama intercepted during the 2012 football season, Wells Fargo donated $2,000.
“We can’t do anything by ourselves,” Children’s of Alabama President and CEO Mike Warren said. “We’ve got to have the support of organizations and many, many others in order to do the great work that takes place in [the hospital] every day.”
The money will be used to benefit the hospital’s Charity League Hearing and Speech Center.
