Shelby County Pastor facing possible rape charges

(WIAT) — A Shelby County pastor is behind bars facing rape charges.

Harry V. Jones, pastor of Calera’s Mount Moriah Missionary baptist church, faces first degree rape charges.

According to Calera Police, the alleged rape happened April 2nd, with a a 39-year old woman.

The incident was reported to Calera Police one week later on April 9th.

Investigators are withholding the identity of the victim, as the case remains under investigation.

Jones, who’s also listed as a defendant in the Shelby County Voting Rights case that’s pending with the U.S. Supreme Court, has been jailed on a $60,000 bond.
