(WIA) – Out of tens of thousands of faces, high resolution cameras pinpointed the Boston marathon bombing suspects within days.

All metropolitan cities are equipped with this kind of video surveillance according to Birmingham  Mayor William Bell.

He says technology has improved so much, it’s possible for some camera’s to determine eye color.

Bell says everywhere you go, you are probably being watched.

However, he admits it is a work in progress.. The mayor’s office is currently working with police to upgrade surveillance throughout the city.

Police say luckily crime that isn’t caught on surveillance camera’s … typically gets recorded by on-lookers always quick to press record on their cell phones.
