Controlled burn being conducted near Greystone

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – If you travel or live along Highway 280 east near Greystone, you may have noticed smoke coming from Double Oak Mountain this morning.

According to Lt. Rusty Lowe with the Hoover Fire Department a controlled burn is being conducted in the area for construction.

Lowe says the company’s permit is valid through April 30th, requiring the burns to cease by this date.
