Inmate considered escapee from Alex City facility

ALEXANDER CITY, Ala. (WIAT) — According to the Alabama Department of Corrections, inmate Daniel Lee Bass is considered an escapee from the Alexander City Community Based Facility.

Bass, a white male who stands 5 feet, 9 inches tall, was reported missing from his job site at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

He never returned to the site after taking a restroom break.

Bass weighs 185 pounds and has brown eyes and red hair.

He is serving a five-year sentence for theft of property and was sentenced on September 6, 2012 out of Shelby County.

His parole was denied on February 28, 2013.

Bass’ sentence is scheduled to end on March 8, 2014.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Daniel Lee Bass are urged to contact local law enforcement agencies.
