(WIAT) — Investigators are still working to determine the exact cause of a fire that broke out at a home in Homewood on Wednesday morning.
Fireman battled the blaze that broke out shortly after 10 a.m. on Bellview Circle.
The homeowners escaped with non-life threatening injuries.
Jim Richey, the family’s neighbor, has lived in the area for 30 years. He tried to help when the fire started.
“[I] went over there wondering if it was something we might help with,” Richey said. “Then I realized it was way too big, too much fire and too much smoke coming out of the top.”
Homewood Fire Chief John Bressen says the damage was mostly to an attic on the second story of the home.
