BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – Jefferson County will consider hiring Alabama Supreme Court Justice Mike Bolin as lead county attorney, according to Jefferson County Commission President David Carrington.
Bolin’s hire will be the subject of an Administrative Services committee meeting Thursday morning. A vote on his hire should immediately follow in the county commission meeting.
According to the Supreme Court of Alabama’s website, Bolin is a lifetime resident of Jefferson County. He has also served as the county’s Probate Judge. Bolin’s complete biography can be found on the Alabama Supreme Court website: http://judicial.alabama.gov/Bios/bolin.cfm.
Jeff Sewell was forced from the top attorney spot earlier this month. Commissioners forced him to retire after citing concerns over job performance. His career with the county span two decades.
