(WIAT) – Neighbors in Birmingham’s Norwood community had a chance to see a glimpse of the future.
About a dozen people got a glimpse at artist renderings of what the Village Creek Greenway should look like following a cleanup of Brownfield sites throughout the East Birmingham community.
The sights were identified through a $200,000 federal grant which allowed the fresh water trust to conduct ongoing testing in the community.
Village Creek Watershed Coordinator Valerie Wilson explains, “We really are working to see if we can look at some of these properties over here to bring back more green space and any kind of economic development the community needs and wants.”
