(WIAT) — On Thursday, hundreds of students from across the state took an opportunity to show their technical expertise at the BJCC.

Students at the SkillsUSA Career Expo took part in over 40 different technical education competitions.

The students compete for scholarship money as well as a spot in the national competition.

The national competition is set to be held in Kansas City this summer.

Organizers of the event say that while the competition is fun, getting there takes hours of hard work and dedication.

The organizers call the career expo the “Super Bowl” of technical education in Alabama.
