FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (WIAT) – Tim Tebow will not be a member of the New York Jets when the next NFL season begins.

Tebow was cut by the Jets at the team’s facility in New Jersey on Monday morning.

The former University of Florida standout was traded to the Jets from the Denver Broncos in March of 2012.

According to Jets coach Rex Ryan, things did not work out the way anyone within the organization had hoped.

Teams have until 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday to put in a waiver claim for Tebow.
