BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Attorneys for the Birmingham Airport Authority say media requests for information on last month’s tragic accident are becoming too much for the authority to handle.
The Airport Authority has released thousands of documents related to construction at the airport.
CBS42’s investigative team has been poring over the information available.
Likewise, the team has talked to construction professionals who say there is still a lot of information that is missing.
“Time will tell, but I think we’ve produced about 7,500 documents in about 10-days time,” Jim Goyer, attorney for the Birmingham Airport Authority said on Wednesday. “We’ve moved heaven and earth to do so, and we think we’ve satisfied all our obligations under the Open Records Act.”
In the thousands of documents released by the Authority, CBS42 has yet to see a shop drawing of the display board that has been stamped and approved by the design team.
CBS42’s investigative team is requesting that drawing along with other documents from the architect that have been blacked out.
