BIRMINGHAM, AL (WIAT) – The UAB Blazers added more depth to their men’s basketball roster on Wednesday. The school announced the signing of Thaddeus Rideau, a NJCAA All-American from Brown Mackie College. The 6-4, 180 pound shooting guard led his team in scoring with 20 points per game, shooting 47 percent from the floor.

“Thad is an explosive scorer and tremendous athlete,” UAB head coach Jerod Haase said.  “His length and athleticism will fill a need on next year’s team. His maturity and desire to win will have a positive impact in our program. He’s been well coached by Coach (Francis) Flax at Brown Mackie and we know he’s coming in prepared.”

Rideau is a native of Port Arthur, Texas.
