(WIAT) — Hundreds of volunteers gathered in a Clay neighborhood on Thursday morning for a groundbreaking ceremony.
Thursday’s ceremony kicks off Habitat for Humanity’s 8th annual Homeowner’s Blitz.
During the blitz, dream’s become a reality for some low-income families.
Over the course of the next week, a total of ten homes will be built for families on Winchester Hills Way.
The builders working on the projects say that there will be homes with roofs on them by the end of the day, regardless of the threat of inclement weather.
The families will receive their keys to the homes on May 9.
