(WIAT) — On Thursday, the Honda plant in Lincoln began producing the 2014 Acura HDX SUV.
It is the first luxury car produced at the plant.
Honda officials and Alabama Governor Robert Bentley say it raises the quality of the car factory and the attraction for future jobs.
“These are outstanding products that will be seen all over the world, and anywhere I go in the world or the U.S., when I see these vehicles, I know it was produced in Lincoln, Alabama,” Governor Bentley said on Thursday.
4,000 people are employed at the plant.
