(WIAT) — A quick stop at a Birmingham-area McDonald’s gave one mother the scare of her life on Thursday morning.
The mother tells CBS42 that when she stepped inside to get her 10-year-old son breakfast, a man opened her car door, assaulted the child and took off with her personal belongings.
The man did this while another person watched for police.
That plan did not work very well for him, though.
One of the suspects fled the scene while another was taken away in handcuffs.
The man who approached the woman’s son twisted his arm and stole the woman’s cell phone and some cash she had left in the car.
