(WIAT) — The rebuilding effort continues for Tuscaloosa-area schools damaged by the April 27th tornadoes.

Earlier this week, the Alabama House of Representatives passed a $30 million bond issue.

If the Senate passes the bill, $8 million would go to Alberta, Holt and University Place Elementary Schools.

A portion of that would go toward construction costs for University Place and the Alberta School of the Performing Arts.

The remainder of the money would pay for needed gym and storage renovations at Holt Elementary School.
