(WIAT) — The cold, soggy weather across Alabama is not slowing down Habitat for Humanity’s home building project in the Clay-Chalkville area.
In addition to the hundreds of volunteers already on hand to take part in the project, the organization welcomed a celebrity worker to the pack on Monday.
Actor Michael O’Neill put his handy skills to the test.
He says he is glad to give back to the community.
“I know the sense of community here,” O’Neill said on Monday. “My mother’s people were farmers, so it wasn’t uncommon for people to pitch in when somebody needed help.”
O’Nell has starred in a number of movies, including “Transformers”, “Seabiscuit” and “Secondhand Lions.”
