(WIAT) — Two major banks are facing fresh legal troubles.
The state of New York plans to sue Bank of America and Wells Fargo.
New York State’s attorney general accused the banks of failing to comply with 2012’s national mortgage settlement over robo-signing and other wrongful foreclosure practices.
The lawsuit contends that Bank of America and Wells Fargo violated the settlement, putting hundreds of homeowners across New York at greater risk of foreclosure.
