Tuscaloosa science teacher presented with $1,000 grant

(WIAT) — A 5th grade science teacher in Tuscaloosa is this week’s recipient of the “One Class At A Time” grant.

Shanel Lightfoot-Brown teaches at Englewood Elementary School.

She says she plans to use the money to buy virtual software and other tools to help improve the way her students learn science concepts.

Lightfoot-Brown’s story will be featured in greater detail on CBS42 News at 6 on Thursday.
