(WIAT) – A Cullman County land auction gave buyers the opportunity to purchase property at rock bottom prices Tuesday.

More than one hundred properties were auctioned off because of delinquent taxes.

This annual event gives  buyers the opportunity to purchase property for sometimes only five to seven percent of it’s assessed value.

However, residents are warned to do research on each property they bid on ahead of time.

The Cullman County Revenue Commissioner says warning letters were sent out to owners in March.
