(WIAT) — An east Alabama woman faces felony child abuse charges on Tuesday.
The unlicensed babysitter, Sherae Reich, is accused of shaking and injuring a 10-week-old girl who was left in her care.
Police say that on May 1, 2013, Reich called the child’s mother saying the baby was unresponsive.
Reich told investigators that she shook the child to get it to stop crying. She said she had done it more than once.
The child had bleeding on her brain and behind the eyes. She was taken to the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
Reich was babysitting seven children that day, including four of her own.
She is out of jail on $10,000 bond.
