(WIAT) — The man accused of killing three people, including a former University of Alabama football player’s brother, says he is not guilty.
21-year-old Jon Staggs Jr., is charged with the murders of Marcel Dareus’ 19-year-old brother, Simeon Gilmore, as well as 22-year-old Joshua Smith and 22-year-old Casey Cumberland.
All three were shot to death inside a Pelham home in September of 2012.
Staggs is charged with three counts of capital murder and one count of burglary.
He pleaded not guilty to the burglary charge as well.
He is being held in the Shelby County Jail without bond.
