Auburn, AL (WIAT)-Tina Deese has been a staple in the Auburn softball program for the last 17 seasons and today she was dismissed according to Athletics Director Jay Jacobs.
“She started it from the ground up, and I will always appreciate her role in establishing a foundation for Auburn softball. I made this decision because I felt it was time to move in another direction,” Jacobs said.
Auburn finished this season with a 30-23 record and 7-17 in the SEC.
“I’m very fortunate to have had the opportunity to coach the Auburn softball program the last 17 seasons,” Deese said. “I’m disappointed that I will not be there to lead the team moving forward, but would like to thank the players, coaches and support staff that have been part of the program since I arrived in 1995. I’m also very appreciative of the Auburn family, community and university during my tenure, and wish the program nothing but the best.”
