(WIAT) – The search is on for Nicholas Bower. The 28 year old from Villa Rica, GA was reported missing by family and friends after he disappeared from a campground at the Talladega Super Speedway this past weekend.
His girlfriend Jennifer Boesch noticed he was gone about 12:30 Sunday morning. After asking some friends where he was, she started searching. She tells CBS 42 they tried calling his cell phone until 4:30am. Afte that she says the battery appeared to be dead because all of the calls went straight to voice mail.
Bower’s sister Bridget Chambers and the rest of the family is holding out hope that he may have gotten in a vehicle with someone that morning and just hasn’t been able to call anyone at this point.
Right now, the search for Bower’s is concentrated on a creek that runs near the campsite he was using.
Talladega Co. Sheriff Jimmy Kilgore says his department is investigating the incident. He won’t rule out foul play at this time, but says for the time being it is being treated as a missing persons case.
