(WIAT) — A Shelby County judge has ordered a bond reduction for a man facing multiple kidnapping charges.
21-year-old Ryan Sims has remained in the Shelby County Jail since his arrest in February.
His bond was initially set at $5 million — $1 million per charge – but on Wednesday, Judge Dan Reeves lowered the amount to $100,000 per charge.
Investigators say Sims held five Chelsea Middle School students at gunpoint after storming onto the campus in February.
Sims is also being held on a $15,000 bond for making a terrorist threat.
That amount remains unchanged.
