BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – Children battling serious illness were able to live a dream in the skies of Birmingham Saturday.

The Dreams on Wings program gives ill children and their families a day to forget about the issues they’re dealing with and do something exciting –fly. Pilots donate their aircraft and time for the cause.

The event is held at the Alabama Air National Guard Base at Birmingham International Airport. Click here for more information about Dreams on Wings, click here.
