(WIAT) — A new crime-fighting tool is rolling through other parts of Birmingham now.
It is called Taxis on Patrol, or TOPS.
The program, which is the first of its kind in Alabama, launched in October of 2012.
100 cab drivers are trained to report crimes, suspicious activity and even fires.
Their cars are also equipped with cameras to record certain incidents.
