TALLADEGA, Ala. (WIAT) – It’s been 10 days and the family and friends of Nick Bower now know what happened to him. His body was found in a creek about a mile from where he was last seen.
Talladega Co. Deputy Coroner Larry Seals says he was identified by the clothes he was wearing and the i-d in his pocket.
Bower’s family and girlfriend could not be reached for comment. But they did the post a comment on the website, findnickbower.com. They say “We thank you for your thoughts and prayers during this unimaginable time.”
Bower’s body was found in Choccolocco Creek, in an area called Jackson Shoals. In a press release, Sheriff Jimmy Kilgore says searchers in a helicopter spotted Bower’s body around noon on Tuesday. He says the body was found in a grassy area and that the remains were likely covered by the weeds in previous searches.
The body has been sent to the Alabama Dept. of Forensics for an autopsy.
