(WIAT) — The lines at the license department in Jefferson County will soon get shorter.
On Tuesday, the Jefferson County Commission announced plans to hire six more employees for the revenue department.
Doing so will help cut the waiting time for car tags.
A new software program will also help speed up the process.
Commissioners say people in the area can expect to see the shorter lines by the fall.
