Silent bike ride to be held in Birmingham on Wednesday

(WIAT) — On Wednesday night, bicyclists across the nation will ride in silence.

The slow-paced bike ride honors those who have been injured or killed while cycling on public roads.

In the Birmingham area, a Ride of Silence will be held in Homewood.

The nine mile ride starts at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

It will begin behind Cahaba Cycles on South 18th Street.

It ends with a gathering in front of City Hall.
