Convicted arsonist set to be released from federal prison

Scales of justice and jail

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — A convicted church arsonist is expected to be released from federal prison next week.

Benjamin Moseley, a 2004 Clay-Chalkville High School graduate, has been serving a 97-month sentence and is expected to be released for good behavior Tuesday.

The Alabama Department of Correction says Moseley will likely start his two-year state sentence in Kilby Correctional Facility near Montgomery before being transferred.

Moseley and two others were arrested in 2006 for a string of church fires in rural Alabama.
