Lorene Scott laid to rest on Thursday

(WIAT) — A longtime advocate for abused and neglected children in Cullman was laid to rest on Thursday.

Lorene Scott spearheaded a number of projects, all to help young people in need.

Scott was a founder of the Pilot Club.

She started the Pilot Light House as a shelter for abused children.

Additionally, she created the Christmas Love program nearly 20 years ago.

Her friends say that she will be missed.

Scott died on Tuesday at the age of 90.
