MAPCO stores in Calhoun County have credit card system hacked

(WIAT) – In Calhoun County, the sheriff’s department has received more than 100 reports of credit card fraud.

The claims began in April and were traced to MAPCO convenience stores in the area.

According to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, MAPCO’s database was hacked.

The company is based out of Brentwood, Tennessee and owns more than 370 convenience stores.

13 stores are located in Calhoun County.

MAPCO released a statement saying the hackers gained access to credit card payment processing systems.

The impacted stores are the MAPCO Mart, Discount Food Mart, MAPCO Express, Fast Food and Fuel, Delta Express and the East Coast and Favorite Markets.

The United States Secret Service is investigating the reports.
