(WIAT) — An iconic symbol of the Special Olympics made its way through Birmingham on Thursday afternoon.
Birmingham law enforcement carried the Flame of Hope as a part of the 2013 Torch Run.
Proceeds from the run will benefit the Special Olympics of Alabama.
The run began in Huntsville, passed through Birmingham on Thursday and will conclude in Troy.
