(WIAT) — A man who was murdered earlier in May will be remembered on Thursday evening.

A vigil for 76-year-old Birl Jackson will be held at Zion Star Missionary Baptist Church in Birmingham at 7 p.m.

Jackson was gunned down in the church’s parking lot on May 6, 2013.

He had just finished a job at the King Manor Apartments across the street.

Police believe 24-year-old Donovan Burke and 28-year-old Adrian Dunning were trying to rob Jackson at the time of the shooting.

Both are being held in the Jefferson County Jail without bond.
