Pelham downs Hewitt-Trussville in game one of state finals

Montgomery, AL (WIAT)-The 6A championship series got underway tonight in Montgomery between Hewitt-Trussville and Pelham.

The Huskies would take an early 1-0 lead with a Connor Cox home run in the the 2nd inning.

The Panthers battled back and in the 6th inning Jackson Pruitt delivers the tying run.

More from Pelham in the 7th as Fletcher Johnson puts himself in scoring position with the steal on second base.

Alex Urban singled to bring Johnson home in walk-off fashion.

“Coming in in a big spot like that in the lineup, I just love that,” said Urban.  I just love the pressure, love fans screaming at you, wanting you to lose but you just have to fight through it just got to win.”

The Panthers win game one of the championship series 3-2.
